Phase one of the Flatford Wetland Enhancement Project was completed in October.
This partnership project between the National Landscape, National Trust and the Environment Agency was funded predominantly by Defra through the Water Environment Improvement Fund.
A series of scrapes were dug, and a pond was restored on a wet and sloping field adjoining a newly planted woodland.
Despite the incredibly dry conditions, when we finally get some substantial rain, these new features will fill up with water and provide fantastic new habitats for wildlife.
