The Dedham Vale National Landscape team organised a two-part event for the Ambling African Women, as part of the ongoing Constable 250 celebrations.
Part one was a great morning at Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich to see the Constable 250 exhibition, including the world famous Hay Wain.
The group had a tour of the paintings with Emma Roodhouse, curator of the exhibition, who talked about Constable’s life and his work.

Part two a week later saw the group take a guided walk around Flatford with a National Trust tour guide, to see where the Hay Wain and other Constable paintings were painted.
The women enjoyed playing pooh sticks, learning about the historical buildings and seeing the landscape that inspired the great works of art.
Everyone enjoyed the day, found the area beautiful and they want to bring their families!
