Celebrating the heroes of our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Nominations have opened for the award that recognises the amazing contributions of individuals, groups, and organisations in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). 

The Robert Erith National Landscape Award recognises the hard work and outstanding contributions by people to make the area an even better place for wildlife, communities, and visitors alike. 

Anyone can be put forward for the award if you believe they have made an outstanding contribution to the AONB in the following areas: 

  1. Landscape and farming 
  2. Biodiversity 
  3. Tourism 
  4. Community engagement
  5. Outdoor education 
  6. Culture or heritage 
  7. Access to the countryside 

The award is named after Robert Erith, the former Chairman of the Dedham Vale AONB & Stour Valley Partnership and lifelong advocate for this special landscape. 

Last year’s winner was Geoffrey Probert for his outstanding work in expanding and energising the Stour Valley Farmer Cluster and promoting conservation & biodiversity on a landscape scale. 

Nominations can be made online. The closing date for nominations is Monday 31st January 2022.
