The Wilder Together in the Stour Valley Partnership were given some funding this year to create two event kits to loan out to wildlife and environment groups in parishes and towns in the Dedham Vale National Landscape and Stour Valley.
This idea came from feedback we have had from community groups who wanted information to give out at village/ town events on how to encourage wildlife into gardens and community wild spaces.
These event kits have a range of wildlife homes which can be exhibited as well as laminated information sheets on how to create and manage habitats for wildlife. The QR codes on the sheets when scanned on a phone will link to more detailed information.
To help groups get the best out of the kits we are holding a training session at the RSPB Flatford Wildlife Garden on Monday 27th January, 1.30-3.30pm. The training will be held in the visitor centre.
There will be a short presentation on the Wilder Together in the Stour Valley partnership and what you need to consider when running/attending an event before looking at and discussing the event kit.
We’ll then have a tour of the garden with Amy Ward, RSPB Flatford Wildlife Garden Visitor Manager, to look at the various ways you can manage your garden or community wildlife space for nature.
