Over the last year we have all been exploring our local area more, engaging with the countryside and discovering new walk and hopefully you will have noticed how truly special the AONB is.
It showcases such an amazing variety of landscapes, from the beautiful river, ancient woodlands, scenery that inspired Constable, to wildlife populated estuaries.
To refine our locations and make sure we capture the variety of heritage we have, we have used three themes in our Landscape Lens photography project:
1. Cultural and historical heritage: This theme will look at the relationship we have with the landscape, the story that can be told, how we have engaged with the landscape in the past.
2. Natural heritage: Will focus on the different habitats including salt marsh, heathland, hedgerows, etc. to highlight the different species that rely on theses habitats and the importance of conserving them.
3. Heritage change: We hope to capture different types of landscape change, such as coastal erosion, deposition, flooding, agricultural change and the results of projects aimed to enhance the landscape.
We hope by recording change in the form of photographs taken by you, we can raise awareness and provide key data for future conservation plans.
We will soon be announcing the locations of the fixed photography points which are dotted around the AONB for everyone to discover!
