Dedham Vale Dark Skies event: Autumn Constellations

Sunset On Shaddelow’s Hill – David Lowe

The next Dedham Vale Dark Skies event is taking place on the evening of 27th September 2024 when we will be looking at the fabulous Autumn Constellations. Cepheus the King, Cassiopeia the Vain Queen and Cygnus the Swan are the prominent constellations above us this evening.

This will be the first full evening with Dark Skies at our Dark Sky Discovery Centre in Thorington Street, CO6 4SS. There will be a talk traversing the wonders that are visible and hidden within these constellations, looking at some of the stellar nurseries where new stars are being formed.

Following the talk there will be refreshments and if the skies are clear you will be able to see some of the sights from the talk. Doors open at 7:30 with the talk starting at 8pm.

As usual there will be a number of experienced astronomers with their telescopes to guide you around the night skies. If you have your own equipment that you wish to bring along please do so. Help will be on hand for any queries that you may have..

Places are limited to 30 guests for this event so booking is essential. Please email dedhamValeAstronomy@gmail.com stating the number of people that will be coming. Closer to the event more details will be sent about the location and parking

If you have booked and find that you are unable to attend please let them know so that your places can be given to someone on the reserve list.
