The Stour Valley Path
Enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Stour Valley countryside and explore its rich historical associations with a walkers guide to this sixty mile route, from Newmarket, near the source of the River Stour, through the Dedham Vale National Landscape, to Cattawade where the river joins the estuary.
A guide to the Stour Valley Path was produced, sponsored by our friends at Suffolk Cottage Holidays. The Path is split into 10 sections of varying lengths with clear Ordnance Survey based mapping and points of interest to help you enjoy your walk.
Each section has a route card which includes: a description of the route, a map based on the 1:50 000 scale with the Stour Valley Path marked on it, and information on points of interest to see along the way.
It is £5 for a printed guide. To order a printed pack please send a cheque made out to Suffolk County Council for a total of £6.75 (£1.75 P&P), our address is on the contact us page. The Stour Valley Environment Fund receives any income from guide sales.
You can venture off the Path with our Walks Off The Stour Valley Path series and other walking and cycling routes throughout the Valley.
